Happily Crumpled

I can’t believe it. It’s finished. My first teensy quilt is done and dusted; crossing the finish line before the littlest poppet’s birthday. Oh so chuffed with that! If I’m dreaming please don’t pinch me.
I can’t stop staring at it’s rumply, crumply surface amazed that we, my walking foot and I, actually created something that looks like the real deal. Imagine that?!
I’m happy to report there were no tears to speak of thanks to Denyse’s book, Liesl’s sanity saving info, and Fii’s fab binding tutorial. And the freeform approach inspired by this clever gal and this yummy book worked like a dream. In fact I found that playing with the colours and patterns was hugely enlightening and great fun.
But at the end of the day it’s a doll’s quilt for a doll, so I needed a test subject. There were a few nail biting moments… But what-do-ya-know, Foxy, who can be surprisingly hard to please, loves it. Who’s the Mummy!
Head over to Kirsty’s to peek into lots more creative spaces. You’ll be glad you did.
Wow! Just love the colours on your quilt. That one will be in your family for quite a while, I’m thinking
Oooh! Makes me want to make a wee blanket too! Wonderful choice of prints!
Wow Alisa, your quilt is just marvellous, I LOVE the colours you’ve chosen, just great!

It’s gorgeous. Love the colours. I love that feeling when you make something you’re really happy with and you have to keep sneaking another look at it. That happened to me today and it made me so happy.
Love the colours. Congrats on getting it done! xo m.

Oh I love the colours – its so pretty. Well done – I had the same feeling when I did mine. Yours much more carefully done, I just kinda went for it and it turned out okay. I love the dotty binding. x

Hi Alisa,
thanks for visiting my place, it means I am introduced to yours. What a wonder. AND, what a post to be introduced at- you have made a fantastic little quilt. I love that happily crumpled feeling. AND, I really love your fabric- a pear, a squirrel, some birds and some dots- you could never go wrong though, could you, with that combination!! Well done
It looks like it was made by a pro! I love those colours and prints together.
Congratulations on the successful project. I have used the peach and jade green combo in mosaic, works for that too.
It looks great, congratulations on finishing!
