Sketchy

Whenever I’m working hard I get an overwhelming urge to:
- sketch the opposite of what I’m working on – ie: Alexander McQueen fashion .
- look up The New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books List
- read this interview with one of my favorite illustrators, JooHee Yoon.
- look up this Luke Nguyen recipe that made my mouth water as I watched him cook it
- and pin this one as an antidote to my early morning jogs…
Apparently this week procrastination has been working hard too!
Hope your week was great! x

Thanks so much!!
Gretchen, I used brown ink and white gouache on top. It’s on a page of my Moleskin so the paper has that yellow tinge. Love how smooth the paper is but its really light and buckles a bit too easily… may have to look out for a more water-friendly version.
The way you’ve added the texture to the paper – and the expression on her lips – wonderful!
Wow, that’s one gorgeous sketch. Just lovely. (Is that watercolor on the hair?)
What a beautiful sketch, so delicate and dreamy.
A little escape is good for for the soul, that’s what I keep telling myself anyway!
WOW… what a gorgeous sketch! I have to say it’s so much more beautiful than the photo!!!
